Brighton Marathon 2018

Good news for any members keen to run a marathon in 2018, who may have missed out on a VLM place. We have access to 10 guaranteed places for Brighton Marathon where general entry has already closed. There are free entries available for runners who meet certain performance criteria but most runners can expect to pay the normal entry fee. Please check the link for more information and let me know if you are interested in taking a club place.

Glos AAA Awards Evening 12 Jan

GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY ROAD RACE SERIES 2017 INVITATION TO AWARDS EVENING
Congratulations on the achievement of our club member, Mark Haslam, finishing as a prize winner in the road race series for 2017. Glos AAA has arranged a presentation evening at the Gloucester City Council Civic Suite, North Warehouse, The Docks, Gloucester on Friday 12th January 2018 7.15 pm for a prompt 7.30 pm start at which club members are invited to be present to pick up their awards. They may bring a small number of guests with them to share in the occasion.

Christmas and New Year opening at Archway.

Archway Sports Centre will be closed on Tuesday 26th December, so there will be NO official Club sessions that day.

The centre will reopen for us on Thursday 28th December for anyone who is keen to run, but please check with your usual group leader to ensure that they will be organising a session.

Normal sessions for 2018 will resume from Tuesday 2nd January.

On behalf of the Club I would like to wish all members and their families a very happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.

 

Stroud AC to host January XC Event - Jan 6th

We will be hosting the county cross country championship at Old Down, nr Thornbury on Sat January 6th and we are urgently looking for committed volunteers to help us manage this event on the day.

We expect that 15 -20 people would be ideal, mostly for marshaling duties (but including 2-3 for Car park duties)
The races take place between a 11:30 start and will finish by about 15:30.
Support volunteer attendance times will be clarified later but at present we will need help:

1) Set up / Taking down " the course". This involves:

The first session will commence on Saturday January 13 th at 5 pm in the Archway School pool
These sessions are aimed at anyone wishing to improve their technique and speed in front crawl so are specifically aimed at novice Triathletes
