Archway School remains unavailable to us as a training venue but we are lucky enough to have plenty of wide open spaces around to meet in pairs and run. Here is the Virtual 5K Challenge that Alan Pitt and Jason Barry have created for all Club members to enjoy. The idea is that you race or just run a 5K (3.11 miles), observing official guidelines, and then submit your Garmin or Strava activity to register your time. 7 girls from our training groups entered the Banister virtual 1 Mile time trial to celebrate arguably the greatest sporting achievement of all time, the 66th anniversary of Roger Bannister breaking the 4 minute mile on May 6th 1954 at the Oxford University track. England Athletics has updated its advice regarding competitions, which are all suspended until 30 June. Our Race committee will be meeting next week to decide on how we will respond as this impacts both The Beer Race and the Frampton 10k at present. More information to follow.
