Marshalls Needed for Frampton 10k and Stroud Beer Race

With the 1st of our races only 2 months away we are looking for Volunteers to Marshal the Frampton 10k – (Monday June 28th from 6:30pm) and The Stroud Beer Race (Wednesday July 14th from 06:30pm). Sheppardine Half and Marathon – A great days racing for club members

So yesterday a number of club runners took part in the Sheppardine Marathon and Half Marathon down at Berkeley. I was very sorry to learn that Tony Christmas, a member and great supporter of our Club for 40 years, has passed away. Tony officially retired from racing in 2010 after completing his “final” Stroud Half Marathon at the age of 80 but has been a familiar figure at many of our events and races over the years, supporting his son, Lee. Mortimer in record breaking form on first outing.

Saturday night saw Stroud’s Tom Mortimer opened his race season after the disappointment of having to pull out of the GB trials for the European indoor champs due to injury, with a dominate and controlled run facing a GB international who ran in the European indoor champs, Phillip Sesemann.
