I was very sorry to learn that Tony Christmas, a member and great supporter of our Club for 40 years, has passed away. Tony officially retired from racing in 2010 after completing his “final” Stroud Half Marathon at the age of 80 but has been a familiar figure at many of our events and races over the years, supporting his son, Lee. Tony always had a smile and a kind… Read More »Tony Christmas
I am very sorry to advise that Jennie Batten will not be returning to coach our mid-range Juniors when we are able to resume group training. Jennie has done a fantastic job for us over the past three years, ably assisted by Steve Carr and a number of parents. Unfortunately, her work commitments have expanded and she has taken the difficult decision to step back from a role she has… Read More »Jennie Batten
The club is delighted to report that the updated guidelines from England Athletics following the Government’s route map to recovery has enabled us to plan a return to group activities, including our 2021 Race Series. Latest guidance indicates that we can expect a cautious return to group running from 29 March https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/guidance-update-2021/ This dovetails nicely with the start of British Summer Time on 28 March. It appears likely that we may be able to return cautiously to some form of group running from 29 Mch. As soon as the formal guidance from England Athletics is updated, we will update our own plans and let you know. https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/england-athletics-response-to-latest-government-covid-announcement/ In the meantime please continue to “buddy up” where you can to train and keep fit with just one person, outside, in your local area, once a day.… Read More »England Athletics guidance update 22 Feb

EA guidance Our groups are starting from different venues across the town to reduce bunching. The Officers’ reports have now been uploaded to the Club website ahead of the Annual General Meeting on Tue 6 Oct at 19:45. Please take time to read them here and if you have any questions or would like to dial into the virtual AGM via Zoom please email the Secretary, Gina Thomson (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will send you a link.
This is the time of year when we normally hold our Annual General Meeting and get together for a drink and (cheesy) chips. Unfortunately, this year the “rule of 6” means that we will be unable to meet face to face and our plan is to hold a virtual meeting at 19:45 on Tue 6 October on “Zoom” instead. Last year’s minutes and the Officers’ reports will all be uploaded… Read More »AGM 2020 – 19:45 Tue 6 October
