The last Cross-Country season was a complete washout due to Covid 19. So many of you will be looking forward to getting your spikes muddy again. It looks as though we should have a full season ahead of us, notwithstanding the inevitable few hiccups on the way.
I have attached a diary for you as a reminder of the venues and dates. (n.b. check before each event on the relevant web-sites for any changes, updates and subsequent results.
A brief note on some of the venues:
October 16th, Gwent League. This is a large-entry race, combined with the “Cardiff Cross Challenge”. The Cross-Challenge is a series of 4 high quality races across the country. You have to enter this separately yourself. You can however also qualify for the Gwent League at the same time, in the same race. With free League entry by entering via myself Geoff Trueman (Let me know your intentions in advance, see contact details below)
N.B. The free team entry applies to all Gwent League races where I receive advice on your intention in advance.
On the day, see me at the venue or otherwise confirm arrival and I will take care “of the paperwork”
Except for this race, race numbers are not usually required for this league. (You will receive a numbered token at the finish, that should be given to me to submit-as a team)
October 30th Glos League, Cirencester Park – A welcome return to this venue. As with all Glos league races you enter yourself on-line in advance (or on the day) and will wear a race number.
January 8th 2022 Glos County Champs is at Cotswold Farm Park, enter yourself (On-line or OTD) Race numbering applies.
March 5th/6th 2022 Old Down Country Park(Saturday or Sunday TBC) Glos League: This will be a club-hosted event, (as we have done previously) so nearer the time we will be looking for volunteers to help marshal the event as well as encouraging a good team turnout.
