We now have the dates for the 2019 Welsh Castles relay and they are June 8th and 9th so get your diaries out and book it in.
Stroud & District AC has taken part in the Welsh Castles Relay event ever since it was set up back in 1998 and we will be entering a team next year as well into the 21st edition. (it was cancelled in 2001 due to the Foot & Mouth outbreak)
It is a 2 day, 20 stage, 211 mile staggered relay race, held mostly on road but with many hills and mountains on route from Caernarfon to Cardiff with an overnight stay in Newtown, organised by Les Croupiers Running Club Cardiff.
We will be looking to bring together a team of club runners to take part again.
We will need 20 runners for the event and a few more reserves in case of injury / drop out.
The legs range from 7.7 miles through to 13 miles in length. Full details on the legs are available through the race website.
We will also be booking up accomodation as usual in Mid Wales for people who want to stay over (either before or after their leg) as well as possible minibus transport for the 2019 event for club runners.
It is a great event to take part in with fantastic support an scenery along the way.
